Like many of us, chipping wasn’t his strong suit, so he’d putt from the fairway instead—a move famously called the “Texas Wedge.” But he gave it his own local twist, dubbing it the Wayland Wedge. It wasn’t traditional, but it worked—and it became his signature style. That philosophy is what inspired us to create this brand: for golfers who may not follow the textbook approach but love the game and play it their own way.
